Jo Dee Messina fans are now able to pick up her latest album, Burn, which went on sale August 1st. Messina has already released a chart-climbing single from that album, "That's The Way It Is."

Felony charges brought against Tim McGraw earlier this year were recently dropped at the first scheduled court appearance, as announced by Thomas J. Eoannou, attorney for McGraw. Fans remember that the charges accused McGraw of assaulting an officer during a misunderstanding at a concert event in New York with Kenny Chesney.

And the final news for this month is of course, the Country Music Association nominations were announced this first week of August. The categories and nominees are....

-- Entertainer of the year: Dixie Chicks, Faith Hill, Alan Jackson, Tim McGraw and George Strait.

-- Female vocalist: Faith Hill, Martina McBride, Jo Dee Messina, Lee Ann Womack and Trisha Yearwood.

-- Male vocalist: Vince Gill, Alan Jackson, Tim McGraw, Brad Paisley and George Strait.

-- Vocal group: Alabama, Asleep at the Wheel, Diamond Rio, Dixie Chicks and Lonestar.

-- Vocal duo: Bellamy Brothers, Brooks & Dunn, Montgomery Gentry, The Kinleys and The Warren Brothers.

The 34th annual CMA's will be televised live by CBS on October 4, 2000. The event will be hosted by Vince Gill. On a personal note, New Country 105.1 KNCI from Sacramento, California,
was nominated for CMA's large market radio station of the year, as announced by KNCI favorite, Brad Paisley. Congratulations to all the fantastic dj's of KNCI for achieving this honor!
